Now you can accurately polar align your Equatorial Platform in a minute or less. Just attach the tool to the south end of your Platform, look through the viewfinder, and center Polaris by moving the Platform. This can be done with the telescope on or off the Platform. You are now polar aligned!

The PAT-RD utilizes a high quality Red Dot finder from Stellarvue. It will give you excellent polar alignment for visual viewing.

    Just wanted to tell you what a great product the Polar Alignment Tool is! I am able to set up much faster than when I used a compass and bubble level to align the platform, and the alignment is much more precise than I was ever able to achieve before. I always had visible drift before, but now things just hang in the center of the field. To top it all off, this alignment method is independent of latitude, so I don't have to worry about tilting the platform a precise number of degrees to adjust for my location. I just shim the platform until the red dot is on Polaris and I'm done. Every platform owner should have one of these!
