- All CPT Universal Cells accept both standard and conical
mirrors.
- 100% user adjustable for mirrors:
- diameter from 8" to 13.1".
- thickness from 0.875" to 2.25".
- tubes or mirror boxes from 9.3" to 13.79".
- 1-5/16" width (back plate to front plate) fully compressed.
- Collimation bolts travel range 0.88".
- Flotation pads allow additional 0.75" adjustment.
- Flotation pad have four preset radii:
- 2.466", 2.823", 3.200", 3.594".
- Open design allows for excellent cooling.
- CNC machined aluminum.

CPT wood cell is made of 3/8" Finn Birch plywood. It is a
very stiff multi-ply wood that will not flex under the weight of
8" - 13.1" primary mirrors.
For standard (non-conical) style mirror, it is recommended to dispense
with the flotation pads (shown with the aluminum cell) and support
the mirror directly on the cell itself. Wood is very stable thermally,
so placing the primary directly on the cell presents no problems.
Additionally, this method provides "six point" support
(along the "spokes") for the entire mirror, past where
flotation pads would be located on a 12.5" mirror. This is
the best type of support system you can use.
The photos above are of a cell painted flat black. Cells are available
unfinished, finished with a clear stain poly seal, or painted flat
black.
